Anna Brady, « TEFAF stage talks in London to promote fair », The Antiques Trade Gazette, 30 janvier 2015:
« A series of three events aimed at collectors and art enthusiasts in the run up to TEFAF Maastricht (March 13-22) launches next week in London to promote the fair. #TEFAFTalks 2015 is chaired by editor of Apollo magazine Thomas Marks and the first of the breakfast talks is on Wednesday, February 4, at The Wallace Collection, titled ‘All the World’s a Stage’, a conversation with Christoph Vogtherr, director of The Wallace Collection and Tom Postma, architect and designer of TEFAF Maastricht, on the importance of architecture, design and lighting for the display of artworks and objects. ‘Conservation – controversial or conscientious?’ is the second conversation on February 19, also at The Wallace Collection, with Alexandra Gent, paintings conservator at The Wallace Collection, and Christophe de Quénetain, TEFAF Antiques exhibitor and historian, on restoration and conservation. On both days, coffee, tea and pastries will be served from 8am, and the talk will start at 8.45am and finish at approximately 9.15am, followed by an opportunity to see the newly restored Great Gallery before the collection opens to the public at 10am. The final talk on March 4 at The Arts Club, Dover Street, looks at the meaning of connoisseurship in today’s investment driven art market with a discussion between Brian Allen, chairman of the Hazlitt Group, and a well known collector, to be confirmed. #TEFAF Talks are free but must be booked in advance, please email annie@cawdelldouglas.com to book your space.
